Not enough protest songs

As rgl isn’t around to point it out, I’ll mention that ill thought-out legislation governing live music in pubs will come into force this Saturday. The performance of music in this country will be at the very least decimated, if not damaged beyond all recognition. Recorded music and wide-screen TVs are unaffected by the legislation, for reasons not adequately explained.

Honestly. The government finds itself opposing Noam Chomsky, Gore Vidal, Jeremy Hardy, George Monbiot, the prime minister’s wife and prominent QC, the prime minister’s wife’s sister… and now Humphrey Lyttleton. Are there no depths to which it will not sink?
