If small is beautiful then tiny is irresistible

As of this weekend, we’re now no longer in Witney; we’re in a smaller village nearby. Whereas before we were surprised that after only a few weeks we knew most of our neighbours, we had met at least three of our new ones within an hour of arriving with the van. It’s a small place: where the delicatessen is astonished that you might want a sandwich on a Saturday: astonished, right up to the point where a Taylor’s or Morton’s opens up nearby, at which point they will perish and blame the competition.

More thanks to j4 and addedentry than this mere “web log” can contain. I don’t want to drive a van again for at least a good few months.

(We don’t have a network connection at home yet; that’s why a post from Friday has just suddenly appeared.)
